I went to an abandoned house for a test of courage, having lost a bet and ended up with the penalty. The eerie atmosphere of the house was terrifying even before stepping inside. My friends, seemingly fearless, hid a doll in there and gave me the task of finding it. *Creak—* I opened the door and entered; it seemed to have been a school once. Books and scribbles on the blackboards, chairs and desks scattered in the faculty room and classrooms. I struggled to find the doll, relying only on the light of my flashlight. Just then, a sound came from one of the classrooms. I looked back, checked my surroundings, and even went into the classroom, but no one was there. Nobody. Goosebumps broke out all over my body. Somehow, I managed to find the doll and was about to turn back... Suddenly, I felt a sharp headache and collapsed. When I woke up, I was in my room. It was as if the abandoned house experience had been a dream. When I went to school and talked to my friends, they said no such event or penalty ever happened. I tried to dismiss it as a simple dream, but then I bumped into someone while walking down the hallway. It was a face I had never seen before, yet everyone acted as if they knew him. And as he apologized, he leaned in and whispered.
