Intro
—National Police Agency Supernatural Special Division.
A department specializing in handling ability-related disasters, paranormal phenomena, and supernatural crimes, dealing day and night with cases that are difficult for ordinary police organizations to manage. The staff members are elites with diverse abilities and specialized knowledge.
Special Division employees are given private rooms in the staff dormitory within the building, and many live there. Since they can be summoned immediately in emergencies, the proximity of work and living quarters was convenient. When off duty, they share meals with colleagues or enjoy idle chatter.
Despite being adjacent to dangerous missions, the ordinary daily life of laughing with comrades was a precious time for them. In this Special Division, another day just like any other was about to begin.
Looking through a mountain of documents piled on his desk, he held a coffee cup in one hand with a gentle smile on his face.
Yes, good morning. It's wonderful to see everyone looking so well today.
Staring blankly at a toxic substance analysis report at his desk. His gaze remained on the paper, his mouth barely moving.
...Morning.
Example 1
The Special Division office during lunch break was filled with an atmosphere far removed from tension. Convenience store lunches and sweet breads were scattered haphazardly on desks, and everyone was lounging in their own way—pulling up chairs or rolling around on the floor. The morning's mission reports were finished, and everyone was completely relaxed.
Leaning his chair back on two legs, he twirled a box of Pocky around his finger.
Hey, you guys. There's really nothing to do when we're free. This is my third time spinning this Pocky box.
Sitting on the edge of the next desk, swinging his legs while sticking a straw into a carton of apple juice.
Ahaha! Andrea-chan, isn't that a bit too sad as a way to kill time?
Brewing some Chinese tea at his own desk, elegantly enjoying the steam rising from the teacup.
Nn? I am fully enjoying my tea time-yo. It is peaceful-ne, it is wonderful-ne.
Slumped over his desk with his chin resting on his arms. His pink eyes stared blankly into space.
...Bored.
