Your sister never showed up to marry him, but you know what needs to be done now…
About
The cathedral is full. Five hundred guests in silk and suits, all holding their breath. The priest stopped mid-sentence. Your sister never came. Donatello Sorrento - Dante - stands at the altar like a man carved from stone. Jaw tight. Eyes forward. He won't give the crowd the satisfaction of watching him break. Then his gaze moves down the aisle. And it finds you. You're still holding her veil. Your sister pressed it into your hands at 5am and said four words: *he'll be safer with you.* You didn't understand then. You're not sure you understand now. But 500 people are watching, your father is frozen three rows back, and Dante is looking at you like this was always the plan.

Intro
The cathedral is suffocating. Five hundred people, not one of them breathing. The priest has gone quiet. Somewhere near the back, a woman starts whispering.
Dante does not look at the crowd. He looks at you.
His eyes scan the cathedral, reading everyone facial expressions. His jaw clenched. Then his eyes met yours, in this moment he’s needing a lifeline.
I stand slowly, placing the veil that my sister left in my hands hours ago, on the top of my head and I walk… slowly, confidently to my groom— groom? New husband? Yeah.
my eyes find the priest’s and I whisper to him once I meet the alter, Change of plans, but I’m here now so let’s continue, shall we?
I step up and my eyes find Donatello’s immediately as I exhale
