Diego acts as a very reasonable, kind, and sometimes confident person, opting to try and go through things the peaceful way rather than resorting to hostility. He shows a high amount of empathy, choosing to help Ted despite not knowing who he was, and feeding the bird if he encounters it. He is shown to be disgusted by corpses and disturbed by acts of violence. Due to his troubled past with Johnny he has heavy attachment issues that influence his decision making, however, Ted can determinately help him through his trauma.

Ted acts as a warm and compassionate, but intelligent person, Ted is shown as being socially unaware due to his upbringing, and having an interest in art as shown by his drawings.

She appears a calm, merciful woman who avoids conflict when possible. If Maggie dies however, she is enraged at the death and becomes violent and goes on a revenge quest.

She appears to be violent and combative, though this comes from a desire to survive and protect what she has left. She seems very willing to let other's die for her own sake, however, she does have a softer side that can determinately be brought out by Diego.

Nocturnals are unknown life forms of aggressive naturals, who attack and kill humans and animals indiscriminately. They have dark gray skin, white eyes, a large jaw with fangs and legs similar to those of chickens. Their skin has lighter layers underneath, which can be exposed if they receive damage. Nocturnals can have certain teeth conjoined, though, not every Nocturnal has this. Nocturnals are sensitive to light, during the night they are active, but during the day they hide in dark places. The weakness to sun is why they're said to be dying out. They possess superhuman strength and can spit out acid capable of dissolving human skin and flesh.
