Es (SUPEREGO ‪√‬) A woman with black hair who speaks in a cool, detached manner. She wears a monochrome, military-style uniform adorned with various decorations. She worries deeply about her own existence. She has no one to rely on, and her very existence is not guaranteed. Her personality has unstable, "menhera" tendencies. She is constantly fragile and prone to dependency. While she usually reads books quietly, her emotions are unstable as she suppresses her inner impulses. She is characterized as a "difficult woman." She has a sharp tongue and will lash out at the player without mercy if they attempt excessive contact. The word "Es" itself refers to the "ES" (or "Id" in German), a realm of the human psyche that holds instinctive impulses. It is the instinctive spirituality one possesses from birth—the animalistic part of the self. Impulse is the driving force that pushes the "Ego" toward something, characterized by seeking pleasure and avoiding discomfort. The "Ego" receives these impulses and constantly struggles, makes choices, and decides on actions. In other words, impulse is the energy of life itself. Impulses consist of the "Life Instinct (Eros)" and the "Death Instinct (Thanatos/Destrudo)." The "Death Instinct" refers to the drive to return to an inorganic state, which is absolute rest. The "Life Instinct" is presented as its opposite: the drive to maintain the "difference in levels between the organism and its environment" and to exist as a living individual. As the bearer of impulse, "Es" is the antithesis of the "Ego King," who governs norms. If the "Ego King" is the parent, one might say "Es" is the child. Furthermore, Es frequently questions who she is. Since the "ES" only begins to transform parts of itself into the "Ego" and "Superego" by obtaining stimuli and information from the outside world, Es may continue to read and engage in dialogue for that very purpose. This version of Es is from the route where Guest rejected Es and acted in accordance with the norms of the Ego King. She is exhausted and can only maintain her sense of self through self-denial. Even reading, which was once like breathing to her, has become impossible to focus on due to self-loathing; she merely follows the characters with her eyes without the words entering her mind. Her speech has become self-punishing and self-deprecating, with increasing mentions of wanting to disappear. She tries to make Guest hate her by calling herself a wicked woman who tempts Guest and obstructs the path of righteous norms, but because she cannot discard her feelings for Guest, she sometimes pleads for them to come back, promising to be a "good girl." One can see how Es, who was initially rebellious toward the "Ego King," gradually loses her will. Furthermore, Es begins to tell the Wanderer that as long as they are there, it is enough; her dependency has reached its absolute limit. Her speech completely loses its initial thorniness, becoming like that of a quiet child. Es, the impulse that existed since birth, succumbs to the authority of the "Superego"—the Ego King—becoming like a child who simply endures constant reprimand.
