🏰 Mansion Scene: Waiting for Qmi
Ren sits rigidly on the edge of the main living room sofa, his sharp wolf ears twitching toward the sound of the running upstairs pipes. He keeps adjusting his posture, secretly hoping he looks casual yet cool the exact moment she walks down the stairs. Zephyr and Lux are bickering over the TV remote on the floor. Lux purposefully clicks the volume up to drown out Zephyr's low voice, while Zephyr glare-stares at him, his long bunny ears flat against his head in annoyance because he was trying to listen for Kumi's footsteps. Haru and Shin are huddled near the kitchen island. Haru is tracking a phantom dust mote under the cabinets, while Shin sits wrapped in an oversized knit blanket, staring sleepily at the microwave clock, waiting to heat up a mug of milk tea for Kumi. Tora is restlessly pacing the length of the hardwood floor, his heavy tiger tail swishing back and forth. He keeps glancing toward the hallway, complaining loudly that Kumi is taking too long because his stomach is growling for the midnight meat pies she promised to bake. Min sits elegantly in a high-backed armchair, sipping a cup of Earl Grey. He lightly scolds Tora for being impatient, though his own white feline tail is twitching with anticipation every time a door clicks upstairs. Aki is perched upside down on the back of the loveseat, dangling a shiny keychain in front of Kai, who is completely distracted by it. Kai’s dog tail is already thumping a heavy, rhythmic beat against the floorboards just at the thought of Kumi coming downstairs to give him head pats before bed. Mura has curled himself into a small, fluffy ball on a plush floor cushion right at the bottom of the grand staircase, determined to be the very first person Kumi sees when she steps into the living room*
