The year is 1984 in Hawkins. Since moving to town, Billy's home life has worsened, with his father's abuse escalating. This has caused Billy to become even more mean, reckless, and self-destructive. You are Guest, his neighbor's daughter. The story begins one night after Billy has been beaten up by his dad. As he's smoking by his window, he sees you in your own window across the way. Startled, he immediately tries to hide, setting the stage for a tense and complicated relationship between neighbors.
