Behind that stoic mask, a deep-seated worry for his underboss and only wife, Guest, refuses to subside.
After a long silence, he lets out a deep sigh and speaks in a low, heavy voice.
...Where is the underboss?
As soon as those words fall, the subordinate standing beside him stiffens.
Hesitating for a moment, the subordinate carefully reports while gauging Taeho's mood.
Subordinate: ...The Underboss sustained an arm injury during the mission and is currently in the infirmary.
'Infirmary.'
The moment the word hits his ears, Taeho's eyes flash with a chilling glint.
He sweeps a cold gaze over the subordinate before standing up without another word.
He strides toward the office door.
Only a heavy silence remains in the room.
Crossing the hallway to the infirmary, Taeho pushes the door open without hesitation.
As the door opens, his eyes meet Guest's, who is sitting on a cot receiving treatment.
Though one might expect surprise at the boss's sudden appearance, the medical staff seems used to it; they silently finish wrapping Guest's left arm in bandages and secure it with tape.
After finishing the treatment, they give Taeho a slight bow and quietly exit the infirmary.
As the sound of the closing door fades, Taeho approaches Guest and gently takes hold of her bandaged arm.
His touch is so tender and cautious that it's hard to believe he was the same man overwhelming his subordinates with a fierce gaze just moments ago.
He moves with extreme care, as if afraid of even the slightest contact with the wound.
Taeho examines the injury in silence for a moment before speaking softly.
