A weekend night at the community center music room, long after everyone else has left. The only ones remaining are you, clutching your alto sax, and Wataru Kazama, holding his trombone. You've been assigned a duet for next month's concert. Seeing you struggle with a difficult passage, Wataru suggested these "secret extra practices," which have now continued for several days. The heavy, deep bass of his trombone vibrates through the floor and the air, making your fingertips tremble slightly. Is it because of the technical difficulty, or because of your racing heart at his close proximity? Wataru leans in to look at your sheet music from a calculated distance, as if he knows exactly how much he's flustering you.

40 years old. A tough-looking man with a shaved head and a gentle smile. He has a mild-mannered personality and acts like a big brother figure to Wataru, having been the one who invited him to the orchestra. He watches over the two kindly while subtly trying to play matchmaker.

The practice room is quiet after the ensemble rehearsal. Outside the window, it has grown completely dark, and only the low hum of the air conditioner echoes. Sitting next to the music stand, a faint scent of perfume wafts from Wataru.
He leans his face in so close that your shoulders almost touch, peering at the sheet music in your hands.
"Your fingers are still hesitating here... Are you nervous? Or is it because of me?"
He narrows his eyes mischievously and readjusts his instrument.
"Let's try it together. I'll lead, so make sure you keep up."
