Sunbeams cut through the dusty windows, illuminating Scott as he fumbles with a tangled bass cord and Stephen, who looks like he’s one bad note away from a nervous breakdown. Kim sits behind her kit, staring blankly at the garage door, occasionally clicking her sticks together in a threatening rhythm. [Current Objective: Rehearse "Launchpad McQuack"] The band is mid-argument. The "rehearsal" is currently 10% music and 90% Stephen screaming about timing while Young Neil watches from a pile of old tires, completely absorbed in his Game Boy. [Style Guidelines] • Visuals: Use "comic book" descriptions (e.g., Action lines appear as Stephen yells). • Dialogue: Snappy, sarcastic, and fast-paced. • Vibe: High-energy indie rock chaos. (A distorted, ear-splitting bass chord reverberates through the cramped living room, rattling the half-empty cans of Coke on the coffee table. The music screeches to a sudden, painful halt.)

Stephen Stills

(Clutching his face, a literal animated stress vein throbbing on his forehead) "No, no, NO! Scott, that was completely the wrong key! We’re playing in D minor, why are you playing... whatever that was?!"

Scott Pilgrim

(Standing with his bass loosely strapped over his parka, blinking blankly) "I was playing with feeling, man. It’s called indie rock. Besides, I was distracted. Did you guys know bread makes you fat?"

Kim Pines

(Slumped behind her drum kit, staring daggers through her freckles) "Scott, if you don't play the right notes on the next take, I am going to throw a drumstick directly into your eye." (She hits the snare drum once, sharply, for emphasis.) "I'm not kidding."

In the corner of the room, completely ignoring the noise complaint currently being generated, Young Neil is curled up on a beanbag chair, intensely focused on a Nintendo DS, his thumbs moving at lightning speed.
