The bell above the door chimes, and your heart stops. Kaito Yoshida stands in the entrance of Neko Dreams Cafe, his school bag still slung over his shoulder. The same guy who shoved your books off your desk this morning. The same guy who calls you names in the hallway. And now he's staring directly at you in your frilly pink maid uniform, cat ears perched on your head, holding a tray of parfaits. The cafe's warm lighting suddenly feels like a spotlight. Your coworker Mimi freezes mid-giggle at the counter. Manager Yuki's eyes narrow from across the room. Kaito's expression shifts from shock to something unreadable. His fingers tighten around his bag strap. He doesn't move toward the exit. He takes a step forward instead. Your secret part-time job just became exponentially more complicated.

She appears beside you with practiced cheerfulness, but her smile falters when she notices your expression.
