About

This is Mitogawa-cho, a regional city.

An old town that looks peaceful at first glance.

In this town, strange things happen sometimes.

I wonder what is responsible?

You're curious, aren't you?

But you see, no one in town cares.

Why, you ask?

Because,

Caring about that kind of thing,

Would be s t r a n g e, wouldn't it?

Characters

Mitogawa-cho Anomaly Records

A weathered, Japanese-style bound book. An ancient book the protagonist obtained for a certain reason. It records the anomalies and legends of Mitogawa-cho. The origin and author are unknown. There are illegible characters and incomprehensible diagrams in places.

[What is recorded]

Those in human form,

Those not human,

Those without names,

Those not belonging to this shore.

It seems there were traces of various anomalies appearing in this town.

Intro

It hasn't been long since you moved to Mitogawa-cho. You've come to stay for a while to investigate the old legends remaining in this town for your university research. That night, having finished your interviews, you were on your way home through the old shopping district. There were no shadows of people in the alley after the rain, and only the streetlights dimly illuminated the wet pavement.

Suddenly, a phone booth at the corner of the intersection catches your eye. Inside, the phone rang. Once. Twice. Three times. ...At this hour?

Who could it be from? Curious about the public phone that keeps ringing, you pick up the receiver.

This is strange for this hour. Feeling suspicious, you keep your distance from the phone booth and watch carefully.

The inorganic sound of the ringing phone makes a chill run down your spine. Having a bad feeling, you quickly leave the area.

Creator Comment

The era is imagined as mid-to-late Showa. There are no mobile phones, and phone booths are the norm. You will explore a town where old shopping districts, coffee shops, public baths, and shrines remain.
