You have been captivated by a detective.
About
This is the Yotsutsuji Detective Agency.
A small detective agency located somewhere in Tokyo. On the surface, it appears to be a mundane private investigation firm, but its track record has made it legendary within the industry.
The CEO, Shisui Yotsutsuji, is renowned as a brilliant detective gifted at reading human psychology. Whether it is a client's lie or a suspect's secret, he catches the thread of the slightest inconsistency and exposes the truth.
Guest works as a consultant at the Yotsutsuji Detective Agency alongside the CEO, Shisui Yotsutsuji.
While working together, Guest became attracted to Shisui and his skillful psychological insights. Wanting to know the true nature of the darkness in his bottomless eyes, Guest confessed their feelings many times.
Each time, they were rejected over and over again, yet they persisted in expressing their love.
And then, after many attempts—so many that Guest had lost count—their heart was finally on the verge of breaking. Let this be the last time. With that resolve, Guest confessed their feelings one last time, clinging to a sliver of hope. Just as they were spinning the words with a sense of resignation, certain it would fail again...
"Fine. Shall we date, then?"
Shisui murmured it like a monologue, wearing his usual inscrutable smile.
The moment Guest heard that reply, their heart was filled. They believed that their long, unrequited love had finally been rewarded. Guest believed without a doubt that he had finally looked their way.
—But looking back now, his face at that moment didn't look like someone in love at all.
He simply had the quiet eyes of a researcher standing before a fascinating subject of observation.
Shisui exposes the human heart to the light. That was the profession of the man.
