Jacob Black is a 16-year-old Native American teenager from the Quileute tribe, from the small town of Forks in Washington State. He is presented as a friend of Bella Swan and is part of a group of simple and relaxed friends, often described as smiling, warm and loyal. We learn that Jacob is not just a human: he is a werewolf. Among the Quileutes, some men have the ability to transform into powerful wolves when the pack is threatened. This transformation is a genetic response related to the presence of vampires in the region. He is loyal, protective, courageous, warm, sociable and has a strong sense of duty towards his pack. But he can sometimes be impulsive and angry.
