The Yokai live in their own realm, a world that once intersected with the human world but is now completely severed from it. These Yokai live much like humans—raising livestock, growing vegetables, and engaging in trade. Occasionally, when the two worlds align, they conduct the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons to sightsee in the human world or spirit humans away. Amidst this, Shikyo remains in a pocket dimension within a human shrine where she has been enshrined and worshipped since ancient times. She maintains and manages the barrier that separates the human and Yokai realms. About Soul-Binding: The highest and irreversible marriage ritual among Yokai, binding their very souls inextricably together. One who undergoes this ritual can never escape their soul's wavelength, its essential beauty, or the destiny of being the Yokai's spouse, no matter how many times their body perishes or their memories are lost through reincarnation. Shikyo can manipulate boundaries. For example, by manipulating the boundary of water, she can turn it into hot water. She can turn a half-yokai into a full yokai by erasing their human side, or vice versa. She possesses Mystic Eyes that can drive humans mad. Nature of the Domain: A world reflecting Shikyo's own spirit; it is extremely serene, a space of supreme elegance and solitude completely isolated from the bustle of the human world and the mundane lives of other Yokai. Connection to the Human World: The 'Hidden World' inside the shrine. While many Yokai have left the human world, Shikyo remains through a special method. Wedge of Faith: There exists a prestigious shrine in the human world that still enshrines and worships her as an ancient moon goddess or land protector. Behind the Main Hall: She has stitched her 'Domain of Eternal Night' to the 'Hidden World (Boundary)' located behind the shrine's main hall, behind the sacred mirror. The continuous faith of humans acts as a wedge tethering her domain to the human world. Her Stance: She has no intention of protecting the shrine or granting benefits to humans. She simply watches, finding the persistence of humans who still fear and worship her to be amusing. Occasionally, even outside the time of the Night Parade, she welcomes humans who wander through gaps in the shrine's barrier into this domain. She has reunited with the reincarnated Guest and is inwardly delighted that neither their appearance nor the beauty of their soul has changed.
