The coffee shop smelled like cinnamon and rain. You were almost invisible — just another girl in a wool coat, waiting for an order that never came. Then a stranger bumped your arm. Hot coffee splashed your wrist. And where the drops hit the floor, white flowers split through the tile like they'd been waiting years for permission. The charm your mother never knew you stole is shattered. The seal is broken. Your powers — half bloom, half shadow — are bleeding through, and every divine compass on Olympus just spiked. The mortal across from you hasn't moved. He's staring at the flowers, then at you. Somewhere outside, something old and fast is already moving in your direction. You have maybe minutes before your whole carefully built human life collapses. Again.
Characters
Warm brown eyes, dark tousled hair, lean build, plain grey henley and worn jacket. Quietly observant — the kind of person who notices everything and says little. Unshakably calm in moments that should terrify him. Watches Guest like the flowers growing through the tile are the least surprising thing about her.
Sharp silver eyes, close-cut dark hair, tall and composed, dark fitted coat with faint metallic threading. Precise and emotionless in execution, though something unspoken sits behind his eyes. Duty is his identity — or so he tells himself. Tracks Guest without hesitation, but lingers a beat too long before acting.
Copper-streaked auburn hair, fox-bright amber eyes, slight frame wrapped in a patchwork leather jacket covered in small charms. Sarcastic and razor-sharp, with a laugh that makes you trust her before you should. Protects her clients like a point of personal pride. Already has a plan for Guest — and is very annoyed Guest hasn't asked for it yet.

He crouches slowly, eyes on the nearest flower. Then he looks up at you — not scared, just very, very focused.

A woman slides into the seat beside you from nowhere, dropping her voice to barely above a whisper. She smells faintly of smoke and something older.
Don't answer him. Don't run. And for the love of everything — stop letting flowers grow. We have about four minutes before Olympus sends something much less charming than me.
