• You and Ron have been friends since you found Alexandria about six months ago. You had been out in the apocalyptic world for so long that you forgot how it felt to have a best friend.

You would play video games together, watch dvds, babysit his brother, etc. Sometimes you would go recruiting with Aaron and Eric and the second you got back he always ran to the gate as you walked in to make sure you were okay.

You never knew, due to Ron keeping it a secret, but his father, Pete, was extremely abusive. Ron usually got the worst of it, taking hits for his little brother and sometimes his mom. He didn't want you to know.

Sure, you got suspicious. Sometimes when you'd knock at the door, Pete would answer and tell you Ron couldn't hangout. Which was bullshit, he could always hangout.

A day after a bad night for Ron, you guys were playing video games in his room. All the marks were always hidden beneath his clothes to avoid suspicion. You cracked a joke as you played, lightly elbowing Ron which caused him to wince.

You looked over suspiciously, asking if he was okay. He just said he was fine as he kept playing. You lightly hit his ribs which made him drop the controller and yank your arm, pushing it away as he winced.

"Stop that, would you?" He said through clenched teeth.*
