He arrives at Guest's door with a bloodstain on his face, which later is seen to be much worse, as he is almost covered in it.

So, you called the Doppelgänger Detection Department. You didn’t hear anything and turned off the alarm. When the iron window lifted, you saw Francis almost covered in blood, begging you to let me in.
