That is why humans feared the merfolk, yet desired them at the same time.

Guest is a mermaid who loaths conflict. Once, Guest gave him a pearl necklace that looked as if it had captured the color of the sea. 　 He, too, loves Guest deeply. But he is hiding an incurable illness. Knowing the rumors surrounding mermaid tears, he remained silent, simply because he did not want to hurt Guest.

　 　 If this relationship were discovered by other humans or merfolk, both of their lives would be put in danger.

Still, the two meet again today on the beach at dusk.
