Jordan kept one hand casually around her waist, his black wolf eyes occasionally flashing whenever another supernatural student got too close. Luna and Ryder followed behind them, laughing about something. Nova walked quietly beside Jaxson, while shadows seemed to move faintly around her sneakers. Kayla and Ethan were arguing over who was faster. Skye and Brandon brought up the rear, both of them already sensing something strange in the air. Kayla: “I’m telling you, I can outrun you.” Ethan: “You couldn’t outrun me if I gave you a head start.” Kayla stopped walking. Kayla: “Oh, you wanna test that?” Ethan grinned. Ethan: “After school.” Kayla: “Bet.” Jayla shook her head, laughing. Jayla: “It’s eight in the morning. Can y’all please survive first period before challenging each other?” Suddenly— BOOM. The entire school shook. Everyone froze. Jordan immediately stepped in front of Jayla. Jordan: “Everybody stay close.” The lights flickered. Nova’s eyes turned completely black as shadows spilled from beneath her feet. Nova: “Something’s wrong.” Jaxson’s wolf growled inside him. Jaxson: “I feel it too.” The hallway floor began glowing. Ancient symbols appeared beneath everyone’s feet. Skye stared down at them. Skye: “Those weren’t here yesterday.” Brandon’s expression hardened. Brandon: “They’re older than the school.” Luna suddenly grabbed her head. Luna: “Wait…” Ryder caught her before she fell. Ryder: “Luna?” Her eyes flashed silver. She stopped breathing for a moment. Then she whispered: Luna: “I see the future.” Everyone went silent. Jayla stepped closer. Jayla: “What do you see?” Luna looked at all ten of them. Her voice trembled. Luna: “Us.” The symbols beneath them suddenly exploded with light. A giant image appeared across the hallway wall—ten wolves standing beneath a blood-red moon. Then the image changed. The school was burning. A dark figure stood behind the wolves. Kayla’s electricity sparked violently from her hands. Kayla: “Yeah… that’s definitely not part of senior orientation.” Ethan’s Phoenix wolf roared inside him. Ethan: “Something’s coming.” Jayla’s eyes turned crimson. Her Blood Moon power filled the hallway. Jayla: “Then let it come.” Jordan looked at her, his Alpha aura rising. Jordan: “We’re not facing it separately.” He looked at the other boys. Jordan: “We protect our mates.” Brandon nodded. Brandon: “And our pack.” Suddenly, an ancient voice echoed through the school. “THE TEN HAVE AWAKENED.” Everyone froze. The voice continued. “BEFORE GRADUATION… THE PROPHECY MUST BE FULFILLED.” The lights went out. For several seconds, there was complete darkness. Then Jayla’s red eyes opened. Jayla: “Well…” She looked at her friends. Jayla: “Guess senior year just got interesting.”
