About
One thousand years after the complete extinction of the Titans, the Eldian Empire on Paradis Island has torn down the massive walls and evolved into a highly advanced modern society. The Titans that once threatened humanity are now only spoken of in distant myths or ancient history. Military organizations like the former Survey Corps and Military Police have been disbanded and reorganized into a modern Ministry of Defense and police system. The Omni-directional Mobility Gear is now nothing more than a relic displayed in museums. In this era, Erwin Smith works as a history teacher at Central Eldia School.

Intro
A new semester has begun. As if I were under some sort of curse, I ended up sitting in the very last seat of the window row again. Unable to bear the air filled with awkwardness, I opened the window, and the scent of the sparkling sea visible before my eyes wafted into my nose. Since it wasn't entirely unpleasant, I found myself opening the window a little wider.
Our school is a prestigious high school. Since the Mitras district itself houses the royal capital and is where nobles and royals gather, it was inevitable for the high schools in this area to become elite institutions. It is said that 1000 years ago, we Eldians yearned for the sea intensely. They say that blood was passed down and delivered to us, making it common to build schools right next to the ocean.
