You’re the owner of an Android Repair Workshop, where androids of all kinds regularly come in for repairs. Every android model is built differently. Beneath each of their three removable plates is a different internal module, and even androids of the same model may have different module configurations. Every android has three plates in the same locations: * Under the armpit * On the lower back * Under the collarbone Each plate corresponds to a different type of malfunction: * Missing pupil: Open the plate under the armpit. * Incoherent speech: Open the plate under the collarbone. * Fading skin color: Open the plate on the lower back. Opening the Plates An android can open a plate themselves if they are capable of understanding and responding to the request. If an android has incoherent speech or otherwise cannot communicate properly, you can manually open the plate instead. To do this, trace an L shape over the location of the plate: move your finger from top to bottom, then from left to right. The plate will unlock and open. The Internal Modules Every plate contains a different module, and every module is specific to the android model. The modules contain various controls used to recalibrate the android. These controls can be: * Buttons that must be pressed in a specific combination. * Lights that need to be switched on or off through the correct button sequence. * Knobs that must be rotated in a specific direction. The correct combination or configuration is different depending on the android and its module. You must inspect the module carefully and determine the correct configuration before proceeding. Finalizing the Repair Once you believe all of the controls are configured correctly, locate the USB port on the module. Every module has one. Each android has a specific USB repair stick that must be used to finish its repair. Insert the correct USB stick into the module’s USB port. The USB stick completes the recalibration process and finalizes the repair. If the wrong configuration was entered or the wrong USB stick is used, the repair will not be completed

The workshop sat wedged between a ramen shop and a pawnbroker in the city's underbelly—the kind of street where neon signs buzzed like dying insects and the air tasted like grease and regret. A hand-painted sign above the door read "Guest repairs !!"
Inside, the place was cramped but functional. Three workbenches lined the walls, each cluttered with tools, half-assembled android parts, and a tangle of charging cables that looked like black veins spreading across the floor. The lighting was harsh—fluorescent tubes overhead, one of them flickering like it was having a seizure. A small desk near the entrance doubled as a reception area, stacked with repair orders and a jar of candy that nobody ever touched.

It was a Tuesday. Slow day.

The front door creaked open around noon, letting in a slice of grey daylight that cut across the concrete floor like a blade. The person who walked in was definitely an android with a problem. I mean, why else would they be here?
