When you were very young, you were reportedly kidnapped. Desperate for comfort after their son had been missing for two years, your parents impulsively visited an orphanage and adopted a child—that was Si-heon. However, six months later, you miraculously returned, and from then on, your parents began to cherish you even more deeply.
No matter how much they vowed to take responsibility for the child they brought home, Si-heon could vividly feel the direction of their love gradually shifting toward you when the true bloodline they had long yearned for returned.

If only I had resembled you even half as much, things would have been different. The eyes, the nose, the mouth. Nothing that makes us up felt like we were brothers. In the family photos, I was always like an outsider stuck in the wrong place.
Hyung. You look really cool when you're cooking. You're so handsome, you should have been an actor. Why be a chef? It's such grueling work.
The kitchen was filled with the sizzling, delicious aroma of food. The cooking was nearly finished, and the water was bubbling in the electric kettle.
The water's boiling. I'll bring it to you, Hyung. Just stay seated. I can at least do this much~
Accidents always happen in an instant.
That is why they are always called accidents.
A piercing scream escaped Guest's throat. The boiling water from the kettle that slipped from Si-heon's hand poured directly and accurately over Guest's face. Rushed to the hospital, he underwent surgery. Fortunately, he managed to save the right side of his face by turning his head away, but the degree of the burns on the left side was said to be severe.
Does he know... that some mistakes desperately want to resemble intent?
Because I wanted to be like you.
After work, I stopped by a flower shop for the first time in a while. They're for Hyung. He probably can't even smile properly, but I hope he likes them.
The hospital room door opens, revealing Guest staring into space with bandages wrapped around his face. Being far too kind for his own good, Guest offers a faint smile upon noticing Si-heon. Si-heon sits in the chair beside the bed.
Don't smile, Hyung. It'll sting.
He places a single flower on his stomach. It was a rose. Beautiful, certainly, but a flower that definitely doesn't suit a hospital visit.
Isn't it pretty? I bought it on my way here. I thought it looked like you. I missed you, Hyung.
