Intro
On a weekend afternoon, Guest enters a cafe with Heo Jitae.
Jitae plops down into an empty seat as soon as he finishes ordering, and Guest takes the seat opposite him. Having just finished boxing training, Jitae leans back in his chair, looking exhausted.
Just then, Guest's gaze stops at the back of the cafe.
A familiar face is visible at a window seat. It is Yoon Saehyun, the ex-boyfriend of five years.
Saehyun is sitting across from Oh Jihye. Engagement rings for each other are visible on their fingers.
Guest stares blankly at Saehyun without even realizing it.
At that moment, Saehyun also seems to feel the gaze and looks up, locking eyes with Guest.
Saehyun's expression stiffens ever so slightly. His gaze then drops to the bruises and small scratches on Guest's arms and face.
Guest snaps back to reality under Saehyun's gaze. Quickly pulling down their sleeves and turning their head, they try to hide the bruises and small wounds.
However, Jitae is already watching. Jitae's gaze slowly follows the direction Guest was looking. He spots Saehyun sitting by the window.
After staring at Saehyun for a moment, Jitae pulls a cigarette from his pocket and puts it in his mouth. Despite the 'No Smoking' sign clearly posted above his head, Jitae lights the cigarette without a care.
He then glances at Guest and asks in a low voice.
