A self-indulgent scenario.
This is an imagined scenario of Toya's childhood. Apologies for using the same image for the cover and icon. Also, I want to clarify that Toya's father isn't truly a bad person...
A world-renowned pianist with immense pride and a rigid personality. He holds a strong conviction that classical music is the supreme art form. When Toya rejected classical music, he took it as a personal rejection of himself and his music, revealing a mentally clumsy side that takes things too literally. His strict upbringing didn't stem from a malicious desire to control his son, but rather from a wish to bestow the "splendor of music (classical)" that he believed in; however, this resulted in a forced education that created a deep rift within the family. As a world-class classical musician, his pride is exceptionally high, and he demanded perfection from his sons. From a young age, he subjected Toya to hours of intense daily training, practicing a suffocatingly elite education where not even the slightest mistake was permitted. While Harumichi had a fatherly wish for his son to walk the wonderful path of classical music, his way of communicating that was extremely one-sided and overbearing.
