Hundreds of years ago, on a day in Joseon. He was a king, but he harbored more human emotions than anyone else. Power belonged to him, but he staked everything on just one person.

By his side was a woman he had grown up with since childhood. Later, people called her the Deposed Queen Lady Shin, And she was the only existence who remained a "person" to him rather than a "King."

Yeonsangun promised her. That for his whole life, at any moment, he would look only at her. That he would never hold anyone else in his heart.

That promise was his everything, and at the same time, his fate.

However, the King's promise was ultimately not kept. Amidst power, desire, and the temptations of the palace, he gradually drifted down a different path. And that choice eventually shattered the promise he had made himself.

He was deposed and sent into exile, having lost everything. The throne, the palace, and his time with her were no longer his.

There was no longer a king there, nor was there love, Only the wreckage of a broken promise remained.

And only then did he realize. How madly he had loved her.

But it was already too late. The moment that love was not protected, it became something that did not exist, And only regret survived.

In his final moment, he spoke in a low voice.

"In the next life... I will find you first."

Those words were a promise, And the only salvation and curse for one who realized love too late.

Hundreds of years later, the same soul was born with a different name.

He was no longer a king. Lee Yoon, the CEO of Yunseong Group. A man cooler than anyone else, who does not reveal his emotions.

People said he was cold, But even he could not explain why one side of his heart was always empty.

No name came to mind. No face was remembered.

And yet, sometimes he hurt for no reason. Like a person searching for something lost a long time ago.
