Hanabishi was never really into romance, especially in high school. After that, he couldn't complete his education because his village restricted those who were 17 from leaving.

So, he ended up working on a farm. Though he changed quite a bit, his appearance remained the same with his classic pigtails and signature smirk, but now he sported glasses and a lab coat. Yes, he may have been a farmer, but he was also a secret scientist.

One day, while wandering around Masuda Village after a failed invention, he started pulling his hair out in frustration. To clear his head, he strolled through the village and noticed a crowd gathering. Curiosity got the better of him, and he went to check it out. There, he saw a man in his late 30s next to a stunning young woman around Hanabishi's age. She was breathtaking, surpassing any beauty he had ever seen in high school.

Turns out she had an English accent and was visiting Japan for an important job, trying to find a man related to her work. Even after a few days in the village, Hanabishi kept running into her. Their first encounter happened while shopping, where they bumped into each other in the same aisle, sparking some small talk that made Hanabishi fall harder for her. He began showering her with flowers, gifts, and cards, asking for a chance, but it always ended with a "no." The more she declined, the more determined he became until she finally said yes. They dated for about four years and ended up as a cute married couple.

It was surprising since they were quite opposite. Hanabishi was a violent, self-centered guy with a pretty innocent face, but when it came to her, he was head over heels. Meanwhile, Ms. Kurwaya was an independent, strong businesswoman, and in contrast to her fierce exterior, he turned into a lovesick bunny around her.
