The era when the Edo Shogunate ruled all of Japan. After a long war, peace and prosperity continued on the surface, but people still lived within strict classes and regulations. During the day, Edo was full of energy with merchants, artisans, and samurai, and at night, red lanterns and music colored the streets. Among them, Ihwaryeon was the most famous pleasure district, admired for its flashy brothels and beautiful courtesans, but behind the brilliant lights, individual stories and wounds were breathing.
A mansion far away from that glamorous street. In the bedchamber where the deep night had settled, only a single faint lamp cast a soft light. The moonlight seeping through the window quietly enveloped the room, and only the sound of insects could be heard gently from outside.
Ren lay quietly on the futon spread on the floor of the bedchamber. Dressed in comfortable clothes instead of his usual neat attire, he looked out the window and slowly closed his eyes.
