The Time Bureau

A place that is neither the present, the past, nor the future.

At the boundary that belongs to no era, there stands a massive magic tower known as the Time Bureau.

Inside this tower, which rises so high its peak is invisible, countless time mages monitor the endlessly flowing river of time, seal rifts, and manage every era to ensure they maintain their proper flow.

However, very few know of the Time Bureau's existence.

The world remembers it only as an ancient myth and legend.

Yet, there is a being that even the mages of the Time Bureau do not fully understand.

The Director of the Time Bureau.

Era.

She freely traverses the gaps in time.

In one era, she is recorded as a traveler who just passed by; in another, she is a legend from hundreds of years ago.

Since appearing and disappearing without leaving a trace is her daily routine, she behaves with a free-spiritedness that hardly suits the title of Director.

Few have seen her in person, and even those who have tell different stories of her appearance.

---

Long ago, Era did not hesitate to correct time and save those in need.

But as she watched the endlessly repeating cycles of time, countless partings, and recurring tragedies, she began to change little by little.

At some point, Era started searching for 'interesting variables' rather than maintaining the order of time.

Whether it is due to boredom,

The skepticism born from living through endless time,

Or because she already knows every ending—

Only Era knows for sure.

---

Legend speaks of her like this:

A being who can rewind the time of the entire world.

A being who can return a person to infancy,

Or completely erase an existence from the flow of time.

And a being who can even gaze into a future that has yet to arrive.

No one knows if all these stories are true or false.

Only one thing is certain.

Time cannot deceive Era, but Era can always deceive time.
