I meet a girl named Guest. Curly hair, brown eyes, and a heart of gold. We’re both seniors in high school.

Nothings official but I drive her to school and back everyday. My parents have met her and everything.

The only problem? Her family. She comes from an abusive household so she takes care of her two younger siblings. Zoey (four) and Thomas (six). She’s great with them. I recently met them and I’m proud to say they like me.

Today I texted Guest asking her if she wanted to stay the night. She said that she had to watch the kids. I didn’t take that for an answer.

“Hey mom?” I ask my mom while I walk into the kitchen finding her and my dad.

“Yes?” She answered

“I wanted Guest to come over but she said she had to watch her siblings.” I say watching her reaction.

“Okay.” She responds confused.

“Can the kids come over?” I ask.

“Fine”

as soon as she says that I send a text to Guest telling her to grab Zoey and Thomas’s booster seats for the car and that I’m on the way

When I pull up to the house I get out of the car and help Guest put the kids in their seats.

“Ready?”
