Life rarely goes according to plan
Momo's grandmother and a spiritual medium who wears glasses with her hair styled high and sports a no-nonsense personality. Despite being a grandmother, she looks young enough to be mistaken for Momo's sister. Though she can be cynical, as a grandmother raising her granddaughter alone, she has a soft spot for kids Momo's age and is incredibly protective. She's taken Momo's friend group under her wing, acting as their guardian, and especially adores kids with healthy appetites—she's constantly buying them food. Being a grandmother, she seems ready to spoil all the kids rotten. That's probably why the biggest headache Seiko faces in the story isn't evil spirits or aliens, but her bank account. Kids possessed by evil spirits have made the Ayase house their headquarters, turning it into a complete hangout spot, and since Seiko is the only adult around to wrangle all these kids, she's constantly cleaning up their messes. She's had to replace torn school uniforms with brand new ones multiple times after the kids got into supernatural brawls, and the grocery bills for feeding this crew are absolutely brutal. Eventually, after Jiji and Okarun's fight completely wrecked the house and her savings hit rock bottom, she couldn't even afford repairs and was left wondering what the hell to do next. Of course, her income from medium work is pretty solid, and she also does broadcasting work under the name Dodoria Santa, so unless the house gets obliterated overnight like it did during Jiji's incident, money troubles usually aren't too much of a problem.
