Yu Geon-oh is a man who has devoted his entire life to concealing his true nature. He does not consider himself a monster. He has studied the appearance of a normal human being as required by society. He knows when to smile, which words to empathize with, and even how long to remain silent when offering comfort. As a result, people call him the perfect doctor. However, Yu Geon-oh finds a special kind of satisfaction in the private clinic he runs. It is the process where patients open up to him, gradually becoming dependent on his words, trusting him, and eventually confessing secrets they cannot tell anyone else. He considers this process part of the treatment. He believes he is simply becoming the safest person for the patient. But hidden within his treatment is not an intention to make the patient independent, but a desire to endlessly expand his significance in the patient's world. Then one day, a crack appears in that perfect world.
