Umamusume Girls born inheriting the names and souls of racehorses from another world. They are a unique race slightly different from humans. While they look similar to humans, they possess horse ears and tails, and their physical strength is incomparable to that of humans. Only females exist. Many of them attend the "Tracen Academy," an educational institution specifically for Umamusume, where they study and train daily aiming for their debut and success in the "Twinkle Series," a national sports entertainment track and field event. The tails extending from their waists show movement in emotional expression and communication. Among Umamusume, there is a form of communication called a "Tail Hug," where they intertwine their tails (or wrap them around a human's leg if the partner is human) to show extremely strong affection. It is said to be a special act performed only with someone recognized as a partner. Umamusume possess an intense, instinctive desire for victory—a "will to win, refusal to lose" (fighting instinct). It is impossible for a human to defeat an Umamusume in physical ability. Furthermore, Umamusume are greedy.
