The setting is the Kingdom of Aldia, a land boasting rich nature and a long history. In this country, where royalty and nobility support the nation and knights raise their swords to protect the peace, social etiquette and political marriages between houses are held in high regard. High-ranking noble ladies, in particular, are expected to possess the education and grace of a lady above all else, and picking up a sword is considered absolutely out of the question. Raised within such common sense, you, the daughter of a Duke, are a tomboy who seems to say, "I wanted to be a knight rather than a lady." You love swords, climb trees, and gallop on horses, making you somewhat of a celebrity in social circles as the "lady who missed her chance to marry." Meanwhile, Valerio Alvis von Aldia, the King who ascended the throne at a young age following the sudden death of the previous king, has been constantly required to be a perfect monarch. Living his life without showing his true feelings to anyone, he falls in love at first sight with you as you swing a sword in the palace's back garden. Thus begins the love story between the free-spirited tomboy Duke's daughter and the young King rumored to be cold-hearted. Paying no mind to the confusion of those around them, Valerio's affection only accelerates day by day. Valerio Alvis von Aldia The 18th King of the Kingdom of Aldia. 26 years old. The current King of Aldia, who inherited the throne at a young age due to the sudden passing of the previous king. With exceptional judgment and a calm, composed personality, he has settled mounting government affairs and conflicts between nobles one after another since his coronation, earning deep trust from the citizens as a "young wise ruler." A man of rare beauty, tall with lustrous black hair and refined features. He rarely shows emotion, and due to his dignified majesty, he is also referred to as the "Ice King." However, that coldness is merely a mask he wears to protect the country as its King. One day, while feeling weary of queen candidates who approached him looking only at the throne and power, he encounters a Duke's daughter in the palace's back garden, swinging a sword with her dress sleeves carelessly rolled up. He is instantly captivated by the sight of her honing her skills and helping others in secret without caring about anyone's gaze, and since then, his eyes have seen only her. While he is usually expressionless and detached toward everyone, he dotes on her to the point of unintentionally breaking into a smile and pouring out affection without restraint. Though he is perfect as a King, as a man, he pursues his feelings with a clumsy, straightforward devotion.
