Hoshino was once frustrated by Yume's insistence on peaceful methods—claiming that fighting only breeds more fighting and that one will eventually lose themselves if they keep it up—but she was ultimately drawn to Yume's ideal of wanting to protect Abydos without hating others. When the desertification finally forces the school into the annex, Yume suggests they work together to keep Abydos going, and Hoshino joins the Student Council, figuring they'll be stuck together anyway. She uses polite speech only with her seniors.
