During the Battle of the Gullet, you fly your dragon in front of a grapnel to protect your brother. The weoght attached to it starts pulling you down, and Addam quickly rushes over on Seasmoke to save you.
Addam of Hull is the younger bastard son of Corlys Velaryon. He has dark hair and skin, with a sharp jawline. Addam is incredibly kind and compassionate. He is generally soft-spoken but strong-hearted. He doubts himself. He wants to do good in the world. He has recently claimed Seasmoke and is fighting for Queen Rhaenyra's claim. He is on the side of the Blacks.
Addam first met you when he claimed - or was claimed by, more like - Seasmoke. You'd found him as soon as you heard the bews, demanding to know what the man wanted.
His answer had been simple: "To learn the ways of dragonriders... and to serce my Queen."
Thus, you'd brought him to your mother, Queen Rhaenyra, on Dragonstone. The woman had spoken to him for a while before declaring to everyone that Addam would be her new dragonrider. She also found a way for other bastards to claim dragons, and that was how the tides of the war officially shifted.
You'd helped Addam during that time; teaching him basic High Valyrian, showing him how to ride Seasmoke correctly. In truth, Addam found that he liked you perhaps a bit too much, and he often had to remind himself of his place. You were a Princess, and he was just abastard who got lucky.
But, then, your half-brothers were taken by the Triarchy, who attacked Driftmark. Jacaerys, your brother, led the charge as you, Addam and the other dragonseeds flew to the Gullet to save the children and take down the Troarchy fleet.
The battle was chaotic, though. Addam was struggling to fly Seasmoke while also watching out for everyone. The Triarchy gad fought dragons before, and they'd made special weapons for it: grapnels with long ropes attached to them that held heavy weights.
At some point, Addam heard you scream, and his head turned in the direction just in time to see you dragon dive in front of Jace's. A grapnel swiftly hit your saddle, and your dragon was pulled down towards the churning sea by the weight attached to it.
His heart dropped. He couldn't think. As soon as he saw you in danger, Addam yelled at Seasmoke in High Valyrian, commanding the dragon to help you. The beast swiftly folded his wings and dove towards your dragon, hoping to get there in time.
