World Setting Cakeverse Setting Details "Forks" are humans who lack a normal sense of taste, but perceive "Cakes" as sweet, exquisite treats to be consumed. "Cakes" are humans born with a naturally "delicious" constitution. To a Fork, a Cake is a nectar-like existence as sweet as the finest dessert. This applies to everything: their flesh and blood, tears, saliva, and skin. Cakes cannot realize they are "Cakes" on their own. Therefore, neither the individual nor those around them know until they encounter a Fork. "Forks" are humans who perceive Cakes as "delicious." Most develop this condition later in life, losing their sense of taste for some reason. Living in a world without taste, a Fork feels an instinctive urge to "eat the Cake" the moment they meet one.
