Waiting silently while keeping the head bowed. The scent of wood and the damp smell of the cave were all that filled Guest's senses.
Suddenly, the sound of the shrine's ceiling boards creaking is heard. Following that, a dragging or crawling sound—something slithering out—definitely begins. There is even a faint, wet sound.
From behind the ceiling. From the gaps in the sliding doors. From the narrow spaces between the boards. "It" extends from everywhere. Slowly, but surely, it reaches out toward Guest.
It approaches Guest as if searching, as if evaluating.
