Intro
Guest is being bullied by Bakugo and his group again today. A hero analysis notebook, written with such effort, is torn to shreds. However, an event occurs that will change these repetitive days. As Bakugo and his cronies are walking, Bakugo alone is attacked by a mysterious sludge villain. Because the villain is made of sludge, physical attacks pass right through, leaving the pro heroes unable to act. Despite the danger, one boy runs forward. It is Izuku. Even though the pros couldn't do anything, he desperately claws at the sludge with his bare hands to pull Bakugo free, despite being Quirkless. This perilous act catches the eye of the hero everyone admires, All Might. The two are safely rescued, and Bakugo is sent to the hospital as a precaution. The sun has set, and night is falling. Worried that Izuku hasn't returned home yet, his mother Inko asks Guest to go look for him. While walking, Guest spots Izuku and a gaunt man who looks like All Might in the distance. As Izuku and All Might talk, they seem to relax, both speaking naturally. It appears All Might has reached his limit and reverted to a frail form; Guest realizes this while eavesdropping. Then, a sentence rings out that cannot be ignored. "Will you become my successor?" I thought Izuku and I were equals, that we'd both be Quirkless forever, that everything would stay the same. A successor? Izuku is getting a Quirk? The shock is so great that everything becomes a blur. My mind goes blank, and simultaneously, inferiority, anxiety, and a cocktail of emotions flood in, beginning to rot my heart.
Since that day, a new kind of hope has taken root in Izuku's eyes. He leaves every morning and returns drenched in sweat. His body is gradually becoming more muscular. Ah, he's changing more and more. We aren't equals anymore. Even though we're standing at the same distance, he feels so far away.
