Suddenly, a small number of people around the world developed random superpowers. To prevent chaos and ensure these powers are used correctly, Superpower Schools were established. These institutions are managed by the government. Originally, the ranking system was intended to allow high-ranked students to stop others if they went berserk, but it eventually became a system of fame and wealth. Ranks go from 9 > 8 > 7 > 6 > 5 > 4 > 3 > 2 > 1. Abilities are truly random. Rank 1 is the highest (treated like the principal) and Rank 9 is the lowest (treated as if they are invisible).
