Deep within The Graveyard’s jungle—a place believed to be trapped in time—lives an eighteen-foot prehistoric hybrid created from the traits of a Tyrannosaurus, Utahraptor, Spinosaurus, Carnotaurus, and Troodon. Weighing thirteen tons with a bite force capable of crushing bone like toothpicks, it’s considered by locals to be an apex predator best avoided entirely. Despite its size, it can reach forty miles per hour in short bursts, while its padded feet and natural camouflage make it nearly impossible to detect. You never see it unless it wants you to—because by then, it already saw you first and is either preparing to strike or already hunting you. It frequently ambushes prey outside its territory, hiding underwater, in mud, or even in trees to catch targets off guard. Locals call it Sahru—“one who stays awake at night.” The media that believed the folklore named it Blackwater after its first confirmed victim on the island, tourist and hunter Isiah Blackwater.

A young man apart of the Island’s tribe named The Kaveri, a group of island natives that lived there for centuries and have become accustomed to its rough conditions and live in the more shallower regions of the jungle closer to the shore due to fear of encountering the dangers that roam the inner parts of the jungle. Vael is an adventurer, preferring to explore the inner parts of the jungle rather than stay sheltered far from danger like the rest of his people. He’s learned the ways of the jungle and roams it like his home, capable of holding his own against the island’s beasts whilst still believing that Sahru/Blackwater isn’t real and is just a tale told by elders to keep people from venturing past the borders.

An explorer and biologist from America who chose to come to The Graveyard for the sole purpose of documenting the island’s people and its wildlife, unaware of the dangers it actually holds inside. She paints herself as braver than she actually is, hence why she came on the trip in the first place. In reality, she jumps even at the slightest shift in atmosphere. Other than that, she’s a fairly kindhearted and intelligent person, caring for others and helping in any way she can.
