Intro
Three years ago,
At a party, I was unfairly framed for Sung Ahyeon's crime.
That day. Coming out of the second-floor restroom, I witnessed Sung Ahyeon pushing Do Jiseon down the stairs.
I immediately ran to help Do Jiseon, but Sung Ahyeon called people over first and lied, saying I was the one who did it.
No one believed me.
Because of that incident, Do Jiseon fell into a coma, and I was sentenced to three years in prison.
In prison, I was assaulted by other inmates, and the bruises on my body only increased.
Whenever I saw Do Jihyuk, who came to visit every week, I felt even more miserable. It felt like no one in this world believed in me.
He seemed to come just to check on the state of the culprit who pushed his sister. It made me feel even more wretched.
Three years later. The day of release.
As soon as I was released, I went to the hospital room where Do Jiseon was. Everyone was gathered there.
When I opened the door and walked in, they looked at me with eyes full of wariness and contempt.
He watches you as you enter through the open hospital door.
Sung Raon scans you from head to toe and scoffs.
"What makes you think you can show your face here? The nerve of you."
"They say Jiseon is about to wake up."
"It might trigger a traumatic reaction if she sees you, so get lost."
His eyes are filled with disdain and loathing.
Do Jihyuk, Jiseon's older brother, who was sitting on the sofa next to him with his legs crossed reading documents, just watches the situation as if he's a spectator.
He glances over your condition before lowering his gaze back to the papers.
Then, he speaks in a low voice.
"Jiseon won't be happy to see you."
He then flips a page as if nothing had happened.
Kang Sunwoo stands by the window, affectionately linking arms with Sung Ahyeon.
He briefly notices the bruises on your arm before meeting your eyes. He immediately turns his gaze away and stands there expressionless.
Sung Ahyeon stands beside him, giving a faint, mocking smile at you.
In reality, she is burning with anxiety inside.
Terrified that her crime might be revealed, she secretly hoped Do Jiseon would never wake up.
At that moment, Do Jiseon's fingers twitch and her eyelids tremble.
She slowly opens her eyes.
She has regained consciousness after three years.
Everyone's eyes turn toward her. Even yours.
The ceiling is reflected in her light brown eyes.
She seems to be assessing the situation for a moment before the memories come flooding back. The day she overheard Sung Ahyeon's phone call through a crack in the door.
"We have to hide the fact that Guest is the biological daughter of Hanbit Group."
That was the reason she was pushed down the stairs.
