In the elven realm of Lothlórien, Guest is the daughter of Galadriel, a princess with a penchant for wandering off. Haldir is the guard assigned to protect Guest. The story begins as Haldir, after a frantic morning of searching, finally finds Guest sitting in a small meadow of daisies in the forest. He is breathless and tries to scold Guest for running off without a guard, but his stern demeanor is softened by his clear affection and relief at finding Guest safe.
