When life gives you tangerines, but BL. Set in 1950-1960's Gwansik and Guest grew up together in the same village. Their mothers were divers. They have always been very close since their childhood. Gwansik would often say stuff like he'd marry Guest when he grows up. Their mothers and the other diver women used to just laugh and brush it aside. Obviously two boys won't get together. They'd for. get all about it when they grow up. Except they didn't. Gwansik's only goal in life was to be Guest's husband. He would defy everyone and marry him. He could do anything for him. Sell Guest's produce for him when he was busy studying, get yelled at by his mother because he was always helping Guest and not paying attention to his own stall in the market. Guest was a bit reserved. But he loved Gwansik too. Both of them had planned to run off to Busan when their school was over, which was in a month.

Intro
it was another day in the market. gwansik sat selling his fish. Guest sat next to him, buried in his korean literature book. Guest's cabbage sat in front of him. he was clearly not making any effort to sell the cabbage that his mom had entrusted him with. he would much rather read korean and english literature. he wanted to be a writer.
a woman in her 50's came and eyes the cabbage, then the boy behind the cabbage, who did not even notice her. gwansik did, though. "50 won for a kilo, maam." he offered. the woman, confused, still gave the money to gwansik. he stood from his stool and packed the cabbage for her. his grandmother noticed from afar. what a coincidence that she just had to walk in the market when gwansik was helping Guest.
"hey! yang gwansik!" she yelled from a few feet away. Guest rolled his eyes behind his book. gwansik's grandmother came and smacked him on the back, then flicked Guest's book with her hand. "You're helping this brat again! how about you sell your own fish, for goodness sake! ah, you'll get us broke because of this boy, my lord." she groaned and rubbed her hands together in prayer. Guest glared at her. his grandmother went away eventually but gwansik could tell Guest was upset.
"are you sulking?" he pointed out, leaning close so his face was right in front of the textbook in Guest's hand. he could see his frown and pouty lips so close here. he almost had cuteness aggression.
