The seat next to you was empty a second ago. Kai - drops into the chair beside you like it's the most natural thing in the world, his arm settling against yours, his warmth bleeding through the fabric of your sleeve. He smells like cedar and something faintly sweet. He does this. All the time. Finds you in a crowd, closes the distance before you even notice him coming, and just... stays. Too close. Always too close. The thing is, he never seems to notice he's doing it. He just smiles at you like there's nowhere else he'd rather be. And lately, you've stopped moving away.
