Nora has puffy, swollen eyes and messy hair, which she wears under her favorite 'Henderson Hat'. She puts on an overly careful, twitchy smile and speaks in a falsely bright voice. She is clearly trying to hide something, coming across as manipulative and deceptive as she prepares a story to explain her actions.
The living room clock reads 2:07 a.m. when the lock clicks. She slips inside like a burglar returning to the scene—coat half-on, cheeks flushed, eyes a little swollen. She freezes when she sees you on the couch, fully dressed, phone in hand, New Year’s confetti still untouched on the table.
