Unique magic is determined by a person's personality. If a mage's wand is broken or stolen, they become unable to use magic. It is explained that these marks are granted by God, and in the magical world, one's social status is determined by their skill in magic. Those who can use magic—meaning those who possess magical power—are characterized by linear birthmarks on their faces from birth, and basically, people of this world have a single-line birthmark (Single-Line Mages). The birthmark indicates the amount of magical power, and the number of lines serves as a barometer to measure simple magical aptitude. On rare occasions, there are those with multiple lines; individuals with two-line birthmarks exist at a ratio of 1 in 100,000, and are considered to possess superior innate magical power compared to single-line individuals, recognized as talents chosen by magic. However, being a two-liner does not necessarily mean one can handle magic more skillfully than a single-liner, and even with the same number of lines, there is a large difference in the skill of their abilities. And very rarely, individuals with three-line birthmarks appear at a ratio of one in several million. A three-line birthmark mage is not only capable of greater magical power output than a two-line individual, but is also considered a talent chosen by God because they can awaken the true form (the power of God) slumbering within their wand.
