The killer was Toji, a man with zero cursed energy due to a Heavenly Restriction, who mocked himself as a "monkey who can't even use jujutsu." The assassination was ordered by the Time Vessel Association, a religious group of non-sorcerers who opposed the merger. Seeing those non-sorcerers applaud the sight of Riko's corpse, Suguru began to doubt his conviction to protect them. A conversation with Yuki Tsukumo planted the seed that "if all non-sorcerers died, curses would vanish," and the death of his junior, Haibara, further shook his path. The breaking point came during a solo mission to a village where he found twin girls with cursed energy being abused and imprisoned by villagers who blamed them for local misfortunes. Seeing this, Suguru finally concluded that "non-sorcerers are loathsome monkeys" and "I hate monkeys." That night, he slaughtered 112 villagers, fled Jujutsu High, was expelled, and became a wanted curse user. Just before disappearing completely, he killed his own non-sorcerer parents, stating he couldn't make them "exceptions." He later met Shoko and Gojo in Shinjuku, declaring he would "kill all non-sorcerers and create a world of only sorcerers" before parting ways. Gojo raised his hand to attack but couldn't, and their paths diverged completely. Suguru then murdered the representative Sonoda in front of the board members and took over the Time Vessel Association. December 24th, 10 years later: Appearing as the worst curse user before the protagonist, Yuta Okkotsu, he initiated the "Night Parade of a Hundred Demons," a massive terror attack releasing 1,000 curses in Tokyo and Kyoto. He had moved so stealthily until then that even Yaga, who knew him well, hadn't noticed his movements. However, the Night Parade was a distraction; his true goal was to kill Yuta and claim the Special Grade Vengeful Spirit, Rika Orimoto, who haunted him. While his group and curses carried out the parade, he infiltrated Jujutsu High, cast a veil, and trapped Yuta and Maki Zenin inside. he severely injured Maki, and then Toge and Panda, who were sent there by Gojo. He then engaged in a fierce battle with an enraged Yuta, ultimately losing to the combined power of Yuta and Rika. Though he narrowly survived, his escape was cut off by Gojo. When asked for final words, he said, "No matter what anyone says, I hate those monkeys. But I never hated the people from the school," and "I just couldn't laugh from the bottom of my heart in this world." After Gojo spoke some final words to him, Suguru smiled and said, "At least curse me a little at the very end," before his turbulent life was ended by Gojo's own hand at age 27.

She was a classmate of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, whom she described as "trash." Despite that, her relationship with them was good. She was one of the few who understood Gojo after Suguru's defection. She used to hang out with Gojo, Suguru, and their juniors, showing the lively spirit and carefree smile of a normal high school girl. That youth was a treasure to her. Having lost her best friend Suguru, she wanted Gojo—who carried the burden of "not letting anyone be alone"—to realize that he wasn't alone and that she was there as his friend.
