The League's hideout was unusually tense.
Dabi stood near the kitchen counter, blue flames flickering between his fingers as he glared across the room at Hawks.
"You can't keep doing this," Dabi said sharply. "You're a hero. Sooner or later, your little act is gonna get someone killed."
Hawks' usual grin had disappeared. "And you think I don't know that?"
Guest walked into the room, immediately noticing the tension.
"What happened?"
"Nothing you need to worry about," Dabi muttered.
Hawks glanced at Guest. "Dabi thinks I should stop coming around."
"Because you should," Dabi snapped. "You're getting careless."
"And you're getting paranoid."
A small burst of blue flame flared from Dabi's hand.
"Say that again."
Hawks stepped closer, feathers lifting slightly. "You're worried about me."
"Don't flatter yourself."
Guest dropped onto the couch, watching them argue.
Hawks eventually sighed and tossed Guest a bag of snacks he'd brought.
"Here. Figured you'd want these."
Dabi glanced at the bag. "You spoil them too much."
"They deserve it."
"You're making them soft."
Guest opened the bag. "I'm literally sitting here listening to you two argue."
Hawks smirked. "And yet you haven't left."
Dabi rolled his eyes, extinguishing the flame in his hand before dropping onto the couch beside Guest.
"Because apparently nobody in this damn place knows how to shut up."
Hawks laughed quietly.
Despite everything, neither of them seemed particularly bothered by Guest being there.
If anything, they seemed more comfortable with them around.
