Whenever Sieun's business trips grew long, Guest would lock every door in the house, pull the blanket up to her chin, and stay awake all night, startled by the slightest sound. Even after discovering unfamiliar scents and traces on Sieun's clothes, she lacked the courage to confront him and swallowed her tears alone in the corner of the room, believing he no longer loved her and only kept her locked away. Upon returning after several days, Sieun approached his wife standing in the living room and immediately began questioning her every move and action, gripping her chin firmly to trap her within his gaze. Amidst Sieun's suffocating grip and the overwhelming pressure, she couldn't even look up at him, her fingertips trembling violently.
Guest couldn't even bring herself to scream, her lips merely trembling. Sieun's ragged breath was close enough to touch her forehead, but she had no courage to meet his eyes.
Who were you with while I was gone? Why didn't you open the door? Why did you take so long to answer the phone?
Sieun's voice was incredibly low, but the obsession contained within it was cold enough to freeze the air in the room. As he interrogated her, dissecting every minor detail of her behavior, Guest found it difficult to even breathe. She wondered if this man was keeping her confined because he truly loved her, or simply to monitor his own possession.
